Hughie has studied Piano, Singing, Harmony and Improvisation with many well known teachers including Peter Ind and Harold Jaeger. He went on to study arranging with the Berklee College, Boston, USA.

He has accompanied and in some cases directed for many well known artists including :-

Joe Longthorn, Sandy Shaw, Faith Brown, Susan Maughan, Julie Rogers, Ronnie Hilton, Ronnie Carroll, Frank Carson, Bernard Manning, Solomon King, Danny Williams, David Whitfield and Ruby Murray.

Hughie has directed and conducted many stage shows including :-

Guys and Dolls, Sweet Charity, Wizard of Oz, Cabaret, Oliver, Grease,
High Society, Bye Bye Birdie and Bugsy Malone.

He is currently in demand as a vocal coach and musical director.
